Mr. Clegg, has worked with MetaLeach since 2009, with South African and British dual citizenship, is a Natural Resources & Energy Industry Professional with over 4 decades of experience gained from working natural resource development projects, industries and related supply industries in more than 40 African and in total 160 countries across all the continents.

Mr. Clegg is an active Independent Consultant and Competent Natural Resource Project Valuator to the industry globally and has an acute interest in new technologies deployment for improved return on equity and investment in general.

Dr. Nicholas J. Welham
Director Process Application Engineering


Dr. Welham is an experienced metallurgical professional who has spent considerable time working on minerals related R&D projects for industry and is the principal inventor of the MetaLeach suite of patented process technologies.

In addition to being a well respected and highly published University Professor, Nick was the Editor-in-Chief of the international journal Hydrometallurgy for 10 years. Nick has consulted to a number of major and junior mining companies and presents a range of short courses on Copper, Nickel, Lithium and Heap Leaching at professional and operator levels.

Senior Metallurgist & Process Engineer

Mike has over 4 decades of practical applications experience of metallurgical and process engineering solutions from concept to construction across most commodities and also within both pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical areas of competency.

His most relevant experience covers the following;
Acid Plants and Roasters, Furnaces, Cu Processes, Platinum Group Metals, Extraction and Refining, Cu and Ni Hydrometallurgy, Cu, Co, and Zn Processing – DRC and Zambia, Ni Processing [New Caledonia and Nkomati], Gasification and Syngas- Energy Systems, Cu/Ni/Co and Non-Sulphide Zinc, Gases to Power, Methane and Hydrogen Production.

Mike undertakes and oversees Laboratory Amenability test works for Special Up-grading and Leaching Techniques on Cu, Co, and Ni Extraction Processes using all of MetaLeach Technologies for potential commercial applications.
